Addressing the complex demands of a multinational educational setting

This 2-day workshop programme, purposively designed for this ERASMUS project, addressed the complex demands of a multinational educational setting. Each workshop was carried out in an interactive style, consisting of a presentation of theoretical foundations followed by a presentation of working questions and interactive group work. 

WORKSHOP I, Tuesday, 3 December 2019, 08.45 am – 11.45 am “MAKING EDUCATION CULTURAL RESPONSIVE” © 

In this workshop, Maria-Gabriele addressed the following topics: dealing with different cultures of learning expectations in a multinational context understanding ‘otherness’: deconstructing bias issues of self-concept and identity of migrant children and third culture kids

While the first workshop focussed on how educator efficacy in a multinational setting, Maria-Gabriele’s aim here was to help the participants understand and adequately respond to the luggage resulting from lived experience migrant children often carry with them into the classroom impact of trauma on the brain trauma and learning behaviour across cultures understanding trauma behaviour in a multinational classroom setting trauma-informed educational practice preventing Educator compassion fatigue: developing adequate educator self-care.
