Welcome to ICC – Intercultural Counselling & Competence Development Ltd, the dynamic force behind Intercultural Consultancy and Training. Operated by Maria-Gabriele Doublesin, an award winning Global Business Strategist and warranted Intercultural Counsellor, our organization is dedicated to addressing the diverse needs of the corporate sector while extending our services to individuals, NGOs, and educational institutions.

Maria-Gabriele Doublesin is a warranted senior practising intercultural counsellor, educator, and strategic business consultant working at the intersection of culture, psychology-informed practice, and organisational systems.

Her professional work is grounded in schema-informed counselling principles and an Adlerian–Dreikursian perspective, with a strong focus on meaning, belonging, responsibility, and social context. This theoretical foundation informs her counselling practice as well as her intercultural, educational, and strategic consulting work, allowing her to work at both individual and systemic levels without crossing into psychological diagnosis.

Maria-Gabriele is the founder and lead consultant of ICC – Intercultural Counselling & Competence Development Ltd, where she provides diagnostic intercultural and organisational analysis, competence development, and strategic advisory services to corporate clients, NGOs, educational institutions, and individual professionals. Her consulting approach is analytical and reflective, focusing on identifying structural, cultural, and narrative misalignment and translating complex insights into coherent, actionable strategy.

In addition to her practice, she designs and applies self-assessment tools related to ethnocentricity and cultural intelligence, supporting evidence-informed reflection and development. As an educator, she delivers lectures and training programmes in intercultural counselling, applied theory, and reflective professional practice, integrating conceptual depth with real-world application.

Fluent in German, English, and Dutch, Maria-Gabriele brings over three decades of international professional experience to her work. She is recognised for her ability to combine theoretical rigour, cultural insight, and strategic clarity, supporting individuals and organisations in developing coherence, competence, and culturally informed decision-making.

"It was during the Covid pandemic, a time of fear and uncertainty, that Maria-Gabriele Doublesin and I crossed paths, albeit virtually at first. With our mutual interest in multicultural integration issues, Maria-Gabriele invited me to join her in setting up NWAMI International Malta, an NGO advocating for multicultural integration and community cohesion.

An accomplished professional, and academic, with a wealth of knowledge and first-hand experiences gained through journeys across Europe, Egypt, and Brazil, I found Maria-Gabriele’s story to be an inspirational one. However, Maria-Gabriele’s path to success was far from straightforward. As a young adult, she was struck by a life-threatening illness that severely impaired her cognitive functions and forced her to abandon her studies. Not allowing this devastating set back to define her future, Maria-Gabriele used it as a catalyst, to relearn how to learn as a non-native English speaker, making an extraordinary comeback. Despite the odds, through hard work and determination, she embarked on an impressive academic journey, leading to two degrees in psychology, motivating and uplifting others through her lecturing and counselling.

Maria-Gabriele’s story is not just one of academic achievements, it is a powerful testament to the human capacity to overcome adversity. She works tirelessly and continues to influence, inspire, and motivate many across all levels of society to believe in their capabilities and that, with will power and determination, it is never too late to pursue your dreams despite the obstacles along the way."
